Happy Friday Elio’ers! This time of year is chock full of events. Graduations, at all levels, are starting to take place, not to mention spring weddings. Also, consider this a public service announcement: Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 14th. If you forget or buy something last minute, you can’t blame us. In terms of the sports calendar, we are in the exciting stages for both the hockey and basketball playoffs, while baseball teams are just starting to get into the groove. We are also getting into the Summer Blockbuster time of year, and several popular shows are starting up again. No matter what you’re into, there’s something going on this time of year.
Speaking of events, in recent Friday Blogs we have talked about the potential for future pop-up events. In case you missed what a pop event is, a pop-up event is a chance to check out the E1c in conjunction with our main focus right now, supplier events or investor meetings. A pop up will be set when we can fit it in around one of these meetings and will be fixed windows of time where we can show the vehicle either at a suppliers building or similar venue. These are definitely in place for our followers to get a chance to see and feel the Elio E1c.
We plan on having a pop-up event in the northern part of Indiana, around Fort Wayne, on Tuesday, May 16th. As soon as we have the details ironed out, we will post them on our website and send out an email to everyone in Indiana and the adjacent states. Stay tuned for more details!
In case you missed it, this week’s Momentum was all about an important piece of our journey: our plant in Caddo Parish. The Elio fanbase is an inquisitive group and loves a look at the nitty gritty of the manufacturing process. In the coming weeks and months, we will give a detailed look at the manufacturing and launch process we have in the works.
If you know anything about our plant, you know that is an incredible facility, both in size and capability. We will not be using the entire facility, which is why other companies are currently either using or looking at using a segment of the plant (you can count our supplier partners in this group also). The plant is MASSIVE, around 4,000,000 square feet, so there is a lot of room for other folks to join in the fun and create jobs for the area.
We’ve had a few supporters stop by the plant in the hopes of getting a tour. While we appreciate the dedication and passion, we’re not quite there yet. Activity at the plant will really ramp up leading up to production. Additionally our plan is to make tours available for reservation holders, at the start of production, and make the tour an unforgettable part of your Elio experience. To whet your appetite, here’s a link to a video from last summer which will take you through the plant.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!
We say it every week, but only because we mean it. Thank you for your support!
