Elio and StartEngine Hangout with Forbes

Happy Friday Elio’ers! This was another fun and exciting week in our history as we were invited to participate in a Google Hangout with Forbes Magazine and the contributor/writer/host Devin Thorpe. Devin has a great bio on Forbes that starts out with “I’m an author and advisor who focuses on helping those doing good in the world. I call myself a “champion of social good.” As a Forbes Contributor I cover social entrepreneurship and impact investing.” What a perfect guy to find Elio Motors, huh?! Here is a link to Devin’s work at Forbes. (link to the video is at the end of the blog)

This “Google Hangout” is basically an interview with our CEO Paul Elio and the CEO of StartEngine Ron Miller. It is definitely worth a watch if you have 21 minutes and 40 seconds (the video is 25:15 but there are technical difficulties starting at 21:40 and the remainder of the video is black screen other than a quick sign off from Devin at the end). In the video they touch on a number of topics including Regulation A+, Elio Motors’ funding plan, a shout out to our Elio fans (a couple by name) and much more.

We don’t want give too much of “spoiler alert” to the interview, as there are many highlights throughout, but there are a couple of items that are sneaky cool. One comes from Ron Miller at around 5:40 into the video. He talks about the what he called the Elio dynamic and “taking the fans and stakeholders along the journey… effectively making them partners in that”.  That is what Elio project has been about and is really the “Elio Way”: sharing the process, both the ups and down’s, with our fans and followers and allowing an insiders view of such a massive project. It is great to hear that our partners see and feel what we are trying to accomplish and note the success of those efforts.

The other one, which we are sure will get people excited, is the reference to the frame.  As all blog readers are aware, we have a plan to share the development of the P5 with you (like we did with the P4) that will roll out over several weeks and culminate in the big reveal of the P5! This will not start for several weeks, but since Paul mentioned it in the interview, we thought appreciate a little taste of the Elio chassis and progress on the P5. So here you go:

Here is the link to the video. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the play button in the middle of the video box. it looks like this:

We will be rolling this out in several weeks, stay tuned to the blog and we will take you through this important step in our progress to changing the way you move!
