Elio Motors 2015 Count Down: Number 4

Earlier this week, we here at Elio Motors introduced the countdown of the top 5 milestones we have enjoyed in 2015. Today, we will announce number 4 in the countdown.

Number 4: Awards

Receiving an award is both gratifying and humbling. On the one hand, it is rewarding to be acknowledged for your hard work and accomplishments. On the other, it creates a desire to continue to work tenaciously to achieve your goals. In 2015, Elio Motors was both gratified and humbled to be named as the product consumers most wanted to bring home from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and also as one of the Top 10 Automotive Startups at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

CES is one of the premier tech shows in the world and is an opportunity for tech leaders to showcase new, cutting edge products. Since the inaugural event in 1967, a number of game-changing products have been debuted: the VCR, camcorder, CD player, HD TVs, and tablets. 2015 boasted the biggest turnout in the show’s history, attracting approximately 170,000 attendees. CNET.com, a website which is synonymous with ground breaking tech products, conducted a poll asking consumers which product they most wanted to take home from CES. Elio Motors received an astonishing 71% of the vote, making it the most desirable product to be showcased at CES.

The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of the most prestigious and largest auto shows in the world. Hundreds of thousands of potential buyers walk the over 870,000 square feet of exhibit space and peruse the vehicles that will transform the automotive industry. The LA Auto Show’s Connected Car Expo also identifies the Top 10 Automotive Startups. Below is an excerpt from a LA Auto Show press release explaining the criteria for the award:

“The CCE Advisory Board chose the companies based on vision, innovation, unique perspective and the likelihood of technology adoption and success. The Top 10 are considered true standouts among an increasingly crowded field of technology companies emerging in the automotive space.”

Elio Motors, which revealed its fifth-generation prototype (P5) at the show, was chosen as one of the automotive startups that met the Advisory Board’s criteria.

The awards we received this past year show the wide appeal of Elio Motors. From automotive enthusiasts to techies, the interest and enthusiasm is palpable and enduring. We are incredibly thankful for the awards we received in 2015.

Don’t forget to check back on Monday, December 21st for the announcement of the 3rd largest milestone of 2015!
