Elio Motors and the Motor City I Elio Momentum v88

Elio Motors in the Motor City!

momentum first

When a town proudly wears the moniker “The Motor City,” you know that they are serious about their automobiles. Detroit, Michigan, is known as the unofficial automotive capital of the world and has been at the heart of countless innovations that have shaped the world.  So, it should come as no surprise that Detroit annually hosts one of the leading automotive exhibitions in the world. The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) showcases current automotive trends, as well as a look to the future for the next big thing.

The very first Detroit Auto Show took place in 1907. While the vehicles displayed during this year’s show may look very different from those 1907 models, the spirit of innovation has remained constant. According to the Show’s website, “Detroit is where future mobility innovations meet the pavement. With the largest concentration of the world’s top automotive and technology executives, designers, engineers and thought leaders, the North American International Auto Show serves as the global stage for companies to debut brand defining vehicles and industry-shaping announcements.” Last year, more than 5,000 journalists from approximately 60 different countries were on hand to cover the stars of the automotive world.

The NAIAS is a particularly special show for Elio Motors. Not only is the NAIAS a premier event, it is also located next to some of the keys to our success.  Many of our blue-chip supplier partners are located in the Detroit area, and our Pilot Operations Center is located in neighboring Livonia. Additionally, the Detroit area is home to some of our most fervent reservation holders.

As you can see in these photos, we have an excellent location at this year’s show. We have the E1c on display, as well as a unibody frame from the E-Series build. If you’re in the Detroit area, please feel free to come down to the show and meet the Elio when the show opens to the public January 14th.

Detroit is a proud automotive city and we are proud to display our fuel-efficient, affordable, safe and American-made vehicle in the Motor City.
